Introducing the Aleo Meme Contest

Aleo is sponsoring its first ever meme contest. The purpose is to generate works that may be used either this year or in the future to promote different Aleo products & programs (e.g., Ambassador Program, Leo, snarkOS, live AMAs), zero-knowledge cryptography, web3 and Aleo in general. This event also provides non-technical Discord users the opportunity to share their user-created content with the rest of the Aleo community. We’re looking for the funniest and spiciest content out there in web3.

RULES AND INFORMATION

The competition starts on April 18th 1pm ET and closes on April 24th at 11:59pm ET
- Only memes submitted within this time period will be considered valid submissions
- Submit your memes to the #meme channel in Discord
Make sure your content follows Aleo’s Community Rules and Guidelines which can be found in the #welcome page on Discord
We are specifically looking for creative submissions that promote the fundamental values of privacy and zero-knowledge cryptography
- Examples:

- Your submission should take an interesting and novel approach to conveying the message (e.g., a humorous slant on why using privacy-based applications are impactful for the future of web3)
All memes that are submitted in languages other than English must have an English translation and brief explanation attached to the entry
- If not, your submission will be disqualified
You can only submit ONE meme per Discord handle
- If you submit more than one, you will automatically be disqualified from the meme competition

How to Submit a Meme

In order to submit a meme, we will be asking users to post in the #memes channel on the Aleo Discord server like they have been in the past. We will only be reviewing memes posted within the competition start and end dates. Again, please only submit one meme per Discord account otherwise you will be disqualified from the meme competition.

Note: Submissions submitted before or after the timeline will automatically be disqualified.

Meme Competition Voting

Based on meme uniqueness and the creator’s engagement in our Discord channel, a panel of judges will pick 10+ memes. The panel is comprised of Maestros and Aleo Team Members (e.g., Viv, Nick, Sam, Anthony, Alex, etc.). Once the top 10 submissions are chosen, we will then hold a community vote on April 25th at 1pm ET. During this 24 hours period, the community will select the top memes amongst the 10+ entries. There will be varying prizes for all the top 10.
